Today, right now as your reading this, a lot of people are making changes to help preserve the environment for the next generation. In your home or business, you have likely installed energy efficient light bulbs or appliances, become more conscious about turning off lights in rooms you are not using, and learned to turn down the thermostat and put your favorite sweatshirt on when the weather turns a bit chilly.
These are all very good ways to help. BUT WAIT! We overlooked something. This is the next step on the evolutionary stage to recycling. Now it’s an extremely urgent one. These are old ideas making the newest thing out, not necessarily the best thing.
According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), over 40 million computers will become obsolete each year. There is 2.25 million tons of consumer electronics, which includes computers. Sadly, only about 18 percent of those are currently being recycled, which means 1.84 million tons of electronic waste is hitting the landfills each year. This adds a tremendous amount to the already overflowing landfills. Steps can be and must be taken to permanently limit this.
What is Direct Recycling©? “Direct Recycling” is when you give to a charity that in turn uses the same or other recyclables donated to repair, fix, and give back to others in new and various ways. This help’s to strengthen people, families, even the society in which they live.
To do this type of recycling, the Goal from the very beginning has to be the reuse of the very things taken in as donations. It’s about pushing the limits of everything used to make something useful for others once again. Seeing that making ready a product for reuse is a viable way to connect people and lives.
For us at Laptops Of love, the idea of DIRECT RECYCLING© is the only method of operation for our enviroment we will do. It is done by giving back to the many children of cancer and or children with any type of life threating disease. We have witnessed the depth of human emotion, watched the courage of what it takes for one child to have a voice and carry with us the compassion to help others every day with your donations as we put them to the best use of all. Giving them ( all cleaned up and refreshed ),to ill children here in the USA(Very soon to expand), to enjoy the life we put back into a lap or desktop computer that you donate to us.
We are asking each of you to look around and see if you might not have a lap or desk top computer collecting dust. It might be that you only have a monitor, a keyboard or a mouse. We reuse your PC’s working or not. This means that we need all of them. Can you help us to help a child?
